I've been gluten free for 14 years and today I had the best gluten free dessert of my life here: the gluten free coffee cake. A lot of gluten free desserts are super dry but this was amazing.
Visited yesterday to meet a couple of friends. The four of us settled into two chaise lounges that were perpendicular to each other; it was one of the better options to sit for a group of four. The built-in banquette would have been another good option, but that space is reserved for knitting club 3-5PM on Sundays (neat idea!). I ordered the hibiscus spritz, which was great because it wasn’t sweet, but was refreshing on the hot afternoon when we visited. The staff were very helpful and kind. Small Format is definitely a great spot to spend an hour or two.
My best friend and I were on the hunt for a cute, dog-friendly coffee shop—and Small Format completely blew us away! Not only is the space charming and beautifully designed, but the food is next level. We were both genuinely astonished by how good our breakfast sandwiches were. If you think I'm exaggerating, I'm absolutely not—this was hands down the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Perfectly made, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. To top it all off, both of the owners were there, cooking behind the counter, and they were absolutely adorable. Their warmth and attention to detail made the whole experience feel personal and special. This place is a total gem, and I already can't wait to go back. Seriously the best coffee and breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I am officially only coming here for such goods. Staff are accommodating and SUPER sweet omg... seriously you NEED to go here!!!
A wonderful small cafe. I come here about 2-3 times a week and have ordered the latte, mocha, London fog, and a couple of the pastries. All delicious, I would recommend every drink. Today I got the biscoff tart and candy cane mocha, absolutely amazing! The space itself is cozy, full of beautiful art, and always a dope playlist. Bravo.
i wish i lived close enough to come here daily. as soon as you walk in it's just a calming, warm space and you're greeted by friendly folks. the person that helped me at the counter was super friendly and helped me pick out a vegan sandwich and a pastry for my friend. i ended up getting the vegan "not for vampires" and it was unreal. along with a lavender London fog, which is amazing! i can't wait to come back!
I ordered the breakfast sandwich that’s featured first on the menu—and wow, it was absolutely delicious! They also have outdoor tables, so I was able to enjoy my meal with my dog, Jin, which made it even better. Thank you for being so kind to my dog too—he loved the water you gave him! This place made our morning extra special. Please let me use the bathroom!
The owners are absolutely LOVELY the alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks are incredible and so refreshing & delicious! Love the summer Flowering drink and the plays on margaritas they do! Their coffee beverages are also so so good. The maple cinnamon latte is my go to! They also support local artists, lgbtqia, as well as being on the right side of history and as an Arab American I LOVE that It's a great spot to go on a date or a brunch with your friends, the staff is wonderful and friendly and you'll definitely be coming back for more!
